I’ve recently had my FoxESS hybrid system installed, and while I’m excited to get started, I’ve unfortunately had quite a frustrating experience with the installer:
* Installation was postponed 4 times without proactive communication.
* Compliance documents are still missing — I can't register with my grid operator yet.
* I had to add the datalogger myself to even get FoxESS Cloud access.
I’m reaching out to this awesome community hoping to vet the installation visually and functionally.
My setup:
Panels: 24 x Canadian HiHero 440 Wp
Inverter: STAR-H3-12.0-E
Battery: STAR EP11 (10.36 kWh usable)
Smart Meter: Chint DTSU666
SG Connect (datalogger manually added)
Export limit: 4 kW as per grid operator
Current Status: Meter shows “Offline” under FoxESS Cloud (see screenshots)
My questions:
1) Does the wiring and component layout look solid to you? Photos attached.
2) Is it expected that the inverter shows Meter “Offline” in the portal even though the meter is clearly working (real-time readings on load, production, feed-in)?
3) Is there anything that stands out as misconfigured or concerning?
4) Can anyone share best practices for tuning the system (e.g., to prioritize self-consumption or optimize feed-in under the 4kW limit)?
5) Any idea why Peakshaving is configured?
I’ve attached photos of the installation (inverter, distribution box, battery) and screenshots from the portal. Your feedback is massively appreciated — I just want to ensure everything is safe, efficient, and future-proof.
