CT2 and CT clamps same conductor
Hi
If both CT (CT2 and Zappi Ct) clamps are on same live feed conductor (tail), would I still be able to get Zappi charger to charge from grid, and not solar batteries?
If yes, how?

Last night my solar batteries completely discharged as they charged my ev.

Also if both CT clamps on same live tail would this create any other issues, that I have yet to discover?
New instalation

Re: CT2 and CT clamps same conductor
I think you may be confused about the CT naming - the inverter has 2 CT’s but normally only one is fitted, the second CT2 is only fitted if you have another inverter providing a second generation source.

If the live is split by a Henley block at the smart meter where one side feeds the EV and the other the house/inverter then you can put the inverter CT on the feed to the house consumer / inverter - but if the live feed is not split it’s very likely the inverter will be seeing the EV as a load and provide power to it when it’s charging.

To know more i’d need to see a picture of your smart meter cupboard or wiring schematics, it may be possible to move CT’s so it works but it all depends on how it is wired.

As the inverter is seeing the EV charging and the only way to stop it discharging the home batteries is to set a charge period for the same time as the EV is charging or raise battery reserve (minsoc) to 100% that will slow charge the battery.
