I noticed that my battery was not discharging at the maximum rate it usually is when I force discharge.
I discovered that if I disabled ‘discharge from PV’, it discharges as expected.

That's kind of expected as it's deducting the PV generation from your allowable export limit, so by turning it off it will use your battery and not any solar generation.
So if your export limit is 5kWh and your solar is generating 3kWh then the battery would only export at 2kWh. (3+2=5)
Or was there something else funky going on?

I had it force discharge at night - so there was no solar generated at the time

Was it down a lot in terms of discharge? I just looked at my schedule and I had Discharge from PV still on, even though I also force discharge at night only but it worked correctly last night at 5kWh which is my maximum export rate to the grid.

Forced Discharge mode makes sense to revert ot Self-use when the Min SOC is reached. However they have applied the same logic to Forced Charge as well when the Max SOC is reached, which doesn't make sense in my situation. I have a 3 hour period of free electricity. During this time I want to force charge and when the Max SOC is reached import from the grid until the end of the period to maximise the 3 hours of free electricity especially to charge my EV. On a warm sunny day when I'm charging at the maximum rate I could fill the battery in 2 hours. It would then start using my battery for the next hour which is a waste of the free electricity. The only workaround I can think of is to use Force Charge as the default Work Mode and set Self Use for all times outside the 3 hours free. Not sure if this would work the way I want.

I had the same issue with my KH inverter. The app updated, but the firmware didn't
, so the new option never appeared. I emailed Fox support with my inverter serial number and they sorted it out. Might be worth trying if you're stuck waiting for updates.

If you've got the newer firmware which allows you to tell the inverter what to do once it's reached SOC (assuming 100%) on forced charge, Backup I'd have thought would then be the best option with backup set to 100% until the end of the forced charge schedule? My understanding PV would power the home and extra power from the grid, with the battery not discharged at all until the end of the forced charge schedule.
I've done similar with Forced Discharge, but I've set it to Feed-in on reaching discharge SOC cut off, so it's still powering the house from solar, exporting any excess to the grid at the premium price rather than charging. It will stop it cycling too (where it charges to 1% more, only to discharge again as it's above the cut off again. Also in this mode I've tested it and it'll still draw from the battery if PV insufficient to power the house. It then reverts to Self-Use at the end of the FD schedule to charge any excess still, as the premium price for exporting has ended.

I have the new firmware and am using the Backup option after the FD SOC is reached. This works for me.
