You made a car analogy before, and cars in Winter use more energy (heating/wipers/lights etc)
It is part of the parcel, and we accept this.

Your Inverter needs power sadly, you cannot get around this, converting DC->AC has losses that cannot be avoided.


When you step back and stop worrying about the losses, the system will be saving you a lot of money, and the ROI might be 6.5 years or 8.5 years, but given the current climate of price rises, that time shortens up as electric price increases.

Just had a reply back from my installer.
They have confirmed that the inverter uses 100-250w during operation so a minimum of 2.4KW per day up to a max of 6.0KW per day.
They also confirmed that the system in standby state consumes 15W. This is the state when battery is empty and solar generation has stopped.
