As the title really: I just received a HA Green to integrate with my FoxESS system, and hopefully make my Octopus Intellegent Go play nicely with my house batteries (i.e. not drain my battery when I'm charging the car outside of the usual 23:30-05:30 window. I don't have Modbus for my inverter, so my question is - is it possible to automate my inverter to charge my battery with FoxESS Cloud (https://github.com/TonyM1958/FoxESS-Cloud) or it is read only?

You would be better connecting the inverter over local modbus (it's not as scary as it appears and there is a lot of advice available), in the case of the cloud you are obviously relying on it's availability to do what you need and whilst i'm no expert on Tony's cloud but it is definitely very capable of reading and writing via the Fox cloud to your inverter - I don't think you would be able to automate it in the traditional home assistant sense, but I am fairly sure you can set cron jobs at certain times to read and write daily charge requirements to your inverter.

Post a question on Tony's repository i'm sure he will be able to advise.
