I wanted to share a post by Craig from Fox ESS for those not apart of the facebook group.
We are looking for some volunteers to take part in the Alpha and Beta testing phases of the Octopus integration. You can express your interest here:

This is not a commitment and is just an expression of interest at this stage. Fox are not collecting any personal information, we will simply pass on your expression of interest to Octopus who will then reach out to you directly. Thank you.

Is this integration also happening for Intelligent Octopus (the standard EV charging tariff)?
If so, do you register interest in the same way?

I received an invite to join the beta today.
We’re excited to invite you to be one of the first to test our EV+Inverter integration
We are currently testing this and would like to invite you to connect with your FoxESS inverter, for this test we will be putting you on Intelligent Octopus Flux as your export tariff and you will continue on Intelligent Octopus Go as your electricity import tariff.
Intelligent Octopus Flux export is a tariff designed for solar and battery users that allows us to intelligently manage a compatible inverter to charge during green, off-peak times and export surplus energy back to the grid during peak periods for maximum return.
If you are happy to proceed with this please follow the steps below
Here’s how to pair your device with us:
Open the Octopus Energy app
Tap the 'Devices' tab and then tap 'Add device'
Select 'Battery' (this may be referred to as inverter) & find your tech from the dropdown
Press 'Agree and connect' - you'll be redirected to an FoxESS login page
Login to your account
Success, your device should now be connected!
You'll see a message prompting you to onboard to Intelligent Octopus Flux. As we're in testing, you do not need to do this - we'll make sure the product is applied correctly for you.

Keep us posted. When I try to add a device, I only have a heat pump option.

@Will I just tried to set up the tariff and it says I need to upgrade
Device List H1-G2 Upgrade required,
Looking through the app it is not showing any upgrade available, versions:
Master 1.31, Slave 1.03, Manager 1.46
Can an upgrade be pushed remotely?

I received an invite to join the beta testing with Octopus in January. My system went live on the 24th.
I've been posting my experiences on the Octopus Smart Energy Forum
here.
I would be very interested in comparing notes with anyone else who's on this trial.

What version of firmware do you have? I think I am still waiting for an update to mine to join. I have opened a Fox Support ticket but had no update on this for a week.

I sent an e-mail to
service.uk@fox-ess.com on the evening of Thursday 22nd Jan with a screenshot of the message I got when trying to add the device via the octopus app (the screenshot included my inverter serial number and that address).
Nice chap called Tristan contacted me via email on Friday the 23rd to say my firmware had been updated to the latest standard. I was then able to complete the sign up process via the Octopus app, set to ‘Self Use’ and turn off my HA automations.
HA modbus integration currently reports:
Version Manger 1.69
Version Master 1.51
… and after I found that I can now deploy remote updates myself on demand via the FoxESS cloud android app:
Version Slave 1.04
Have a poke around the ESS app. Maybe your firmware is already new enough to support you rolling out an update to these versions yourself?

Hi all,
I'm not on the Beta, however I have noticed that Fox ESS is now included on the options in the drop down on the Octopus Intelligent Flux web page.
Is this option still only for Beta Testers, or is it under wider release now?
Also for those who are in the Beta:
I'm currently on Intelligent Go and would be thinking of switching across in March or April, is there a guide or a process to follow to set the service up?

I'm also interested in the Intelligent Flux tariff. I'm not on the beta either, but would appreciate some help in understanding how giving control to Octopus works. I'm currently using Intelligent Go and have schedules I control with mode scheduler. I use the Fox app regularly (too often according to the wife
)
Does this mean I would no longer need to use the Fox app to manage the system as Octopus control it? Are there firmware updates needed? How have those of you who have used iFlux found the tariff? Any pros or cons?

Hi @ecobyte, if you’re interested in how IOF works in practice with a fox H1 G2 inverter and EP11 battery, you could do worse than joining the Octopus Smart Energy Forum and reading through the thread I linked to above.
Health warning: My wife thinks I spend too much time messing with this stuff as well. Forum membership may cause marital stress

Thanks @andrew5 I've joined the Octopus forum and browsed your posts. They make very interesting reading and I'm curious about whether this hybrid tariff (IOG Imp/IOF Exp) will replace IOF as it stands now. Early days yet, but your figures look promising and will get better as the sun shines for longer. It will be interesting to see if my 3 phase H3 Pro inverter is supported yet. Looking at the rest of this month, I'm unsure if March is too early to switch....it's not looking like the bumper month we had last year!
