scheduler charging during self use
Hi Folks,

I've tried to setup the scheduler for octopus go, seems to be mostly working, but my intention was to try to keep the 00:30 - 02:30 period as run from grid but don't charge by setting the min soc to 100 on self use mode. but as per the profile last night it seems to have charged, albeit at half the charge rate it seems (Bat charge current limited to 9 amp via front panel)

My setup is KH9 with EP11 battery.

Any ideas whats going on there?

Cheers
Adam

Re: scheduler charging during self use
When you set the minsoc to 100% if the battery is lower than 100% it will start a maintenance charge (5A) until the minSoC is met - your charge power will be your battery voltage * 5A in watts.

If you have the 'backup' work mode available try using that instead, it will hold the battery soc and run from grid.
Re: scheduler charging during self use
Great thanks that makes sense then.

So there is a backup mode in the Work Model option but not in the scheduler per time slot, I only have Feed in priority, Self use, Force charge, Force discharge...

Can I ask what would happen if I set a Force charge with a max soc = 10, would this allow a period of run but dont charge from grid or would it default back to self use because the charge is "complete"?

Thanks!

Hi, we have a 7.2kw inverter, 20kw of battery and up to 10kw of solar PV, we also have two electric cars…

I’m trying to configure FoxCloud 2.0 so that the batteries ONLY charge (I.e, do NOT discharge) during the 23:30 to 05:30 off peak Octopus times. We charge one or other of our cars during the that off peak period and currently it simply depletes the battery with no time left to recharge the battery on the off peak rate. As a work around we have scheduled the cars to charge 23:30 to 02:30 and then the Fox batteries to charge recharge from 02:30 to 05:30. However doing this means we can never fully charge either of the cars during the overnight cheap Octopus rate.

I’m sure the answer lies within the Mode Scheduler but I just can’t get my head around it!
Surely I can’t be the only person trying to do this?
Thanks in Anticipation

Re: scheduler charging during self use
You need to set the mode scheduler to Force charge for the entire 23:30 to 05:30 period. That way it will charge the battery and keep it at 100% until 05:30.

You need two force charge periods as shown:

Re: scheduler charging during self use
Thanks for your reply, that makes perfect sense, however I’ve now tried to do this but every time I try and save the settings it shows a message saying “please enter a number from 10 to 100” and it will not accept ANY number I enter!?

I’ve taken a screen shot but I can’t figure out have to attach it?

The Fox Cloud software I’m using on an iPad is version 2.1.69

Thank you
Re: scheduler charging during self use
It's a bug on the scheduler page on the Fox web portal. If you select "force discharge" first, then you can enter the numbers which are greyed out and then change it back to force charge before saving it.

Thank you - all sorted!
