After a power cut earlier today I wanted to checked that the system was working properly. I attach a copy of a screenshot showing my system at 15.41 this afternoon.
The screenshot shows that there was a house load of over 7kw despite the fact that there was minimal electrical use in the house at that time. In an attempt to identify the cause of this anomaly I checked each fuse box switch in turn only to find that if I turned the solar off the electric usage went down to about 150watts.
I then re-booted the solar system to see if that would reset the system but instead it showed an even more bizarre reading as shown in the second screenshot. Here it shows that somehow the house was generating over 7kw which was being used to fill up the battery and some of which was being exported to the grid?????
Any thoughts.

What is the system doing now, has it settled down ?

It does seem confused and the battery appeared to be being charged from grid in one of those shots - a couple of things to start by checking - is the system time correct ? (look at the main inverter screen), do you have any charge periods or schedules set - if so disable them temporarily to see if the system settles down. What is your Battery Reserver and minsoc set to (normally 10% each).

When you say you had a power cut - was that because someone was working on your house, in which case is it possible they could have moved or unclipped the CT clamp ? (it should be clipped to the live feed coming out of the smart meter)

Unfortunately the system hasn't settled down.

I have checked the time on the inverter and it is correct. I also disabled the charge periods and can confirm that the battery reserver and minsoc set at 10%.

The "power cut" was because someone was working on the house and it is possible that the problem lies with the CT clamp which he did unclipp. As far as I can see it is clipped to the live feed coming out of the smart meter.

How do I check if the clamp is in the correct position?

When I contacted the electrician who did the work on the property he wasn't sure if he had put the CT clamp on the right way round????

I have reclipped the clamp myself the opposite way to the way he had reclined it and it seems to have done the trick.

Yep perfect, it’s a common problem that it gets reversed and your system charges then dumps the battery (which is what it was doing) - should be all good now
