Generator input on KH10 inverter

Hi I am looking at a fox ess system using the KH10 inverter coupled to 4okwh batteries .
I currently have 10kw of solar panels connected and feeding into grid system in NSW.
As we don't have 3 phase here I have a 11kva industrial genset that powers my shed running for on average 3 hrs a day withsingke and three phase outlets .

I believe this inverter can be configured to accept a single phase input into the the gen circuit to supplement charge the batteries and it can be setup to only draw 3-4 kw so asto puts some load on the idling generator and put this excess power into the batterys .

My installer knows nothing about this and tells me its not possible but documentaction shows it is and it's separate from the grid as its a battery charging circuit so legal ???

You can use the AC port to charge the battery from the generator. If you're using all your loads off the EPS port then you use the AC port for charging. Simply setup a 24/7 charge window and the inverter will attempt to charge whenever there is a connection.

Hi sorry to hbijack this thread, but if I wanted to use 2 x KH10 solely off of a 40KVa generator, while the grid was being replaced, would it just work as if on grid? Maybe for 3 months.Obviously I would have to properly bond the earth.
