Can we set max battery SOC during charging?

I found the battery's SOC increases slowly to 100% once over 90%. Can I set my inverter KH-10 to stop charging at 90% SOC either from grid or solar?

You should charge up to 100% so that the battery can balance all the cells in the stack, at least once a month at a minimum (IIRC, please correct me if wrong someone)

Well, during a schedule for charging, you can set Max SoC and FC Pwr to 90% and that should stop the charge at those values.

During a self-use period, in scheduler you can set Max SoC to 90% and FD Pwr to 10% (or whatever you wish to reserve)
If you set FD Pwr to 90% in self-use mode, then your battery will stop discharging at 90% and you will pull from the grid.

You can set the MaxSoC, FC SoC for grid charging and they will hold, but the batteries will still charge to full via PV.

that may change in the near future on latest gen inverters as Fox appear to be testing a MaxSoC setting that stops all battery charge.

Thank you for clarifying the solar still charges above the 90% setting Dave (I was not a 100% certain)

Thanks Dave, that means I cannot let the kh-10 inverter divert full PV output to grid once battery is over 90%? I wish to export PV output to grid once battery is above 90% soc, as charging becomes inefficient

Yes that’s correct - as I say it may change in the near future but don’t hold your breath.

If you have home assistant, all of these things are possible - well worth investing in it if you have the time.

don’t worry you are learning fast :)

I always say, "it's better to sound half an idiot, than a complete idiot" each day is a school day for sure, your help is appreciated.
