How well does Fox A Charger Integrate for Smart Charging?
Hi all

Getting a Fox DH 9.9 inverter and EQ4800 Battery package.

I need an EV Charger too but I want it to be smart to be able to charge on certain rules the most important being able to set the charge rate so it doesn't use any grid power to charge only solar or battery

I see the Charger connects back to the Inverter via the Modbus port thats good because it can get local data without going through the cloud right? Because I saw the update time in the Fox cloud is 5 minutes which is too long

So I guess yeah keen to know what smarts the App can do for the EV Charger if it can be set like this?

Otherwise I would have to use Home Assistant and connect the Pi to the Modbus port on the Charger (apparently the modbus port will allow two connections one going back to the inverter and one going to the Pi)

OCPP not an option as I dont want it where the data is up to 5 minutes old because I beleive the OCPP isnt local and goes through the cloud too?

But if this charger is flaky I am just going to get a Lektrico One Charger because that works great with Home Assistant over local APIs

Cheers
