Battery offline with no data
Hi, my battery is offline and the dashboard is showing no data.
I have tried reconnecting the wifi in the app which says successful but then still shows the device and not connected?

How do I fix this and will by battery still charge from my panels whilst it is offline?

Please advise

Re: Battery offline with no data
Got exactly the same this morning, inverter shows it needs a update but wont let me update as battery is offline and no data displayed on dashboard. Wonder there is a background update happening?
Re: Battery offline with no data
I have same issue this morning
Re: Battery offline with no data
I would perform this, as you are getting no data at all, Grid/PV etc.
On the EP battery, there is a Silver button where the wires go in.

Shut-Down Sequence – (Switch OFF)
1. Turn OFF the PV supply at the consumer unit (3).
2. Turn OFF the AC isolator at the consumer unit (3).
3. Switch the AC Isolator at the inverter to OFF (2).
4. Switch the DC Isolators at the Inverter to OFF (2).
5. Battery off

Wait for your Inverter screen to go blank.

Then I do all of that in reverse.
Re: Battery offline with no data
Mine also shows this. Could there be an outage? I'm not sure what parts of the system an outage would affect, as it's only my battery that's offline and I have the word 'Fault' in my battery device information.
Re: Battery offline with no data
Exactly the same as mine
Re: Battery offline with no data
The website and app are both working fine for me, does not mean there is not a fault. But your Inverter screen will show if there is a local fault usually.

Can you see the power and SoC for your battery on your Inverter screens?
Re: Battery offline with no data
It started at 03:25 am UK time still not back online

I have not shutdown the system yet as it is in the loft and not had a chance to get up there yet.

Fox have been mucking about in the back end database recently, catching many off guard.
Let's hope that you can get up there and check upon it.

Re: Battery offline with no data
Well it was charging, until it went poof one way or another.

@GrahamE, do you have better access to your system, have you reset it?
Re: Battery offline with no data
Mine also went off at 03.24 - my installer has just talked me through a hard reset, but he said it should be 10 mins before it comes back up, so I'm just waiting for that.
I'm in Norwich BTW, just in case this is regional.

Hi Graham, is that the same as the shutdown sequence ?

2. Turn OFF the AC isolator at the consumer unit (3).
3. Switch the AC Isolator at the inverter to OFF (2).

5. Battery off
Re: Battery offline with no data
I'm based in Oxfordshire, 03:22 this morning my battery went offline. Rebooted WiFi, no effected, then I checked here and seen lots of reports.

Are there any updates?
Re: Battery offline with no data
Looking at Fox here for the cause by sounds of it.

What battery do you all have, and Inverter?
Re: Battery offline with no data
I have a KH8 Inverter and EP11 Battery
Re: Battery offline with no data
H1-5.0-E-G2 inverter and EP5 battery
Re: Battery offline with no data
Me too - Crowthorne, Berks. Battery allegedly offline, but Foxcloud says no PV either! i did notice a firmware upgrade for the data logger (2.00 -> 2.03) which appears to have failed (according to the app). Maybe thats related? Botched upgrade?

Update: The datalogger 2.03 upgrade became available again later, so I (rashly?) requested it again, and it downloaded and applied OK. Maybe a red herring, but as per my later post (still hidden until moderated), something is not right...
Re: Battery offline with no data
Place your bets that Fox pushed a Firmware update through in the night.

5. Battery off
It's been half an hour after the hard rest and it still hasn't come back up.
My reset involved the following:
1. Press the silver power button on the left-hand side of the battery (next to the four green LEDs) for 6 seconds. You should hear a slight click, and the LEDs will turn off.
2. Then, on the opposite side of the battery, there is a black isolation switch. Turn that to 'Off'
3. Then on the Inverter, there is a similar isolation switch - turn that to 'Off'
4. Finally, turn the power off on the yellow/red AC supply switch.
5. Wait a couple of minutes and then switch everything back on in the reverse order that you switched them off (including the silver power button)

But, like I say, that hasn't helped (this time).
Re: Battery offline with no data
When starting up, the battery has to be on before Inverter so that it can be seen and talked to.
If there are battery faults, the lights will report this via colour codes on the EP11.

I have restarted my system several times using the method I posted, never had an issue with it coming online after.
Re: Battery offline with no data
I have the same issue. Spoke with someone from Foxx support on the phone this morning, and they said is a issue at their end
Re: Battery offline with no data
I chatted to my installer at FreshElectrical. He said that they have a WhatsApp group with the FoxEss team, so he's going to drop them a message to make sure they're aware of the issue.

I'm in Oxfordshire too and having exactly the same issue. I can't update any of the firmware on the WiFi dongle or the inverter, either.
Re: Battery offline with no data
For what its worth my system is: H1-6.0-E-G2 inverter and 2 x EP5 battery
With the same symptoms as others, my system has went semi-live again (as of 1235 today) after a gap of 9 hours, in that Energy Stats starting showing PV data again. Hopefully Fox have fixed something at their end! For what its worth, the battery LEDs were all green during the outage, and the inverter front panel said everything was OK (battery 100%, which is probably true given it was 50% at 0330 and its been a sunny morning, so I didn't embark on any hard reset strategy)

EnergyStats is reporting expected amount of PV output and export to grid, and battery 100% (which may or may not be true). Foxcloud 2 web still shows battery as offline, and Fox app hasnt updated for 35 minutes, so all is still not well! My Solar iBoost is happy to heat the hotwater tank if I turn it on, so the CT clamp reckons I'm exporting to the grid. All in all, it seems like everything is OK locally, but Fox cloud still broken.
