So, I'm planning to provide whole-house backup in the event of a grid outage. Not that these events happen very often around here, but if the H1 (G2) can do it, I might as well use that feature.
I'm only going to do a manual changeover. As I understand it (we're on TN-C-S), I need to fully disconnect the mains input (including earth), and I'll need to supply a ground rod.
So the question is, can you leave the grid input of the H1 inverter connected directly (via RCBO) to the mains during the period when the EPS is active?
I have a drawing nearly ready, but in words, the connectivity would be:
Mains in -> meter -> fuse -> isolator -> inverter GRID via RCBO, and also to the changeover switch
The EPS output goes to the other changeover input, then the output of this switch goes to the CU.
EPS Earth to CU earth bar.
Earth rod to CU earth bar.
Additional isolator for the mains earth to the CU earth bar.
I already have a small CU ready for the EPS, containing an RCD, and MCBs for a double-socket, light, and (hopefully) the changeover switch.
I may, or may not, do this all myself or get my friendly sparky in.
