Fox ESS EPS-BOX-SP - how to test?

Morning all
I've recently had solar fitted, which included the aforementioned EPS box.
My question is simply, how can we test that the EPS is working or not?
Should the installers have fitted an isolator between the meter and the consumer unit or something similar?
