Code 64 from legacy panels

Hi,

Great site that has helped us begin to understand our new system

10 days ago we had an EP12 LFP 11.52kWh battery and an ESS AC1 G2 3.68kW 1ph AC Couple Inverter installed. We have a roof PV system that was installed in 2015. It comprises two banks of Sunpower panels and an ABB 3.6kW Inverter. The DNO would not allow export from the new inverter.

So far we have had seventy code 64 alerts from the inverter. The message is "DC bus volt is High".

I have read the 2024 conversation about code 64 alerts, but that did not involve a legacy system. I have two questions.

First, and most importantly is this a problem that the installer needs to resolve? If so is it urgent?

Second, why is the DC voltage high? I thought the new inverter was taking AC output from the ABB.

Many thanks, Ed

What size is your array?

Hi Will,

Thank you for helping.

12 x 327W Sunpower E20 Solar Modules in 2 banks of 6. That gives a total installed capacity is 3.92 kW, with a declared net capacity of 3.61kW. The most we have ever seen output from the ABB PVI-3.6-TL-OUTD inverter is just under the net capacity.

The intention was not to interfere with this system which enjoys a feed-in tariff. My understanding is that the Fox Inverter had no direct connection to the existing panels, which are still connected via the ABB. The app shows no solar, but rather when the ABB is on it shows gen load. (BTW, this makes all the reporting a bit meaningless, as gen load is not reported and nor is any direct consumption of gen load.)

All the best, Ed

Hopefully the issue has been resolved by Fox correcting some software settings on our system.
