Description: I would like to request the ability to define a "Maximum Export Limit" (in Watts) as a parameter for individual Forced Discharge events within the Mode Scheduler.
Proposed Functionality:
The Control: Within each Forced Discharge time slot in the Mode Scheduler, add an "Export Cap" slider.
Range: The slider should allow users to select any value from 0 W up to their globally configured maximum (as set by the installer during commissioning).
Operational Logic:
For users on Fixed Export limits: The slider acts as an operational ceiling for that specific event, allowing for precise management of battery discharge to match local tariff windows (e.g., peak-pricing or export bonus windows like GloBird ZeroHero).
For users on Dynamic/Flexible Export programs: This slider acts as a "User-Defined Ceiling." The inverter should logically apply the lower of the two values: the user’s slider setting OR the grid operator’s real-time dynamic limit signal. This ensures that the feature is fully compatible with network requirements while honouring the user's specific energy management goals.
Why this is valuable:
Financial Optimisation: Many energy plans now offer significant bonuses for exports during specific windows (e.g., 6pm–9pm). Current global export settings are too static to handle the daily fluctuations in State of Charge (SOC) required to maximise these earnings without risking grid-import in the morning.
Safety & Compliance: By allowing the slider to go up to, but never exceed, the installer-set global limit, the software provides a "safe" way for users to participate in energy markets without ever violating their formal Grid Connection Agreement.
Automation & Convenience: This feature eliminates the need for manual, daily overrides of the inverter’s global configuration, reducing user frustration and potential for configuration errors.
Universal Compatibility: Whether the system is operating on a fixed export limit or is actively participating in a dynamic/flexible export program, this feature provides a consistent and intuitive interface for managing battery output.
Use Case: I am currently managing my system to capture specific export bonuses during the 6pm–9pm period on the Australian GloBird Energy ZEROHERO electricity plan. On days with a high battery SOC, I want to export at my full permitted limit (e.g., 5000 W). On days with a lower SOC, I need to constrain exports to a lower value (e.g., 1000 W) to preserve capacity for overnight use. A slider in the scheduler would allow me to automate this strategy safely and effectively.
My system is a Fox ESS KH10 with 9 x EQ4800 battery modules. I'm based in South Australia, Australia.
If you are also participating in export bonus or demand-response programs and would find this feature useful, please 'upvote' or comment below to show your support. It would be a significant help for the community to have more granular control over our battery management.
