Forced Charge - how do you set it up to default to self use once SOC limit reached?

Have set up a forced charge schedule to deal with cheaper mid day rates but not over charge such that I need to export solar later in the day - which is why the SOC is set at 40% for this schedule.
The issue is that once the battery reaches the Cut Off SOC (40%) but still in the force charge timeframe, instead of effectively defaulting to self use ie run the house and excess to battery, it charges the battery and imports to run the house. So I am now on SOC 68%, charging the battery and yet importing to run the house.
Any tips how I fix this?
