Struggling to maintain a steady rate of upload to grid

All - when our system starts to
Upload to the grid, it slowly cranks up to around 10kw - but as soon as anyone does anything like turn on a kettle or the fridge motor cranks, the upload rate drops to say 2kw, and then slowly winds back up over the next 5 to 10 mins to 8 or 10kw. When upload finishes, it starts to download from the grid - not for very long - but annoying. Is this normal? 2 banks batteries - approx 30kw - and 2xh1 inverters.. Thanks for any wise thoughts !
