StormSafe in the UK - does it actually work?

I have enabled this function in connection with my solar/battery/EPS system, but can anyone in the UK tell me where the StormSafe function gets its information to allow it to trigger a forced charge ahead of a major weather event? Does this actually happen? Is there a way to get an alert if this happens, either from a central Fox ESS site, or from the inverter/battery controls locally?

I can't speak to the UK data source specifically, but the general behaviour of StormSafe-style features is that the trigger comes from weather forecast data pulled by the manufacturer's cloud, not from anything measured locally, so the inverter only acts once that service flags an event. If you want visibility, check whether your monitoring app logs a charge event with a distinct reason code, and compare the battery SOC history around a forecast storm. For alerts, third-party integrations reading the cloud API are usually the practical route rather than expecting a local signal.
