KH Series Datalogger - Modbus Still Required?

Hi
I'm currently in the process of planning my HA integration with my (hopefully when G99 approved) KH8 inverter and CQ7 battery system.
Do KH series still need modbus integration to access the datalogger or can this now be achieved using the built-in WiFi like the H1 Gen 2 WL series?

Based on the contents of that thread it seems like it's not been enabled yet, that's disappointing, was hoping to avoid needing to wire in modbus as part of my installation.
