cannot change values like min SOC via foxcloud app
hi All, this is an EVO question but wondering if it is a wider issue - i just had my evo installed. have set up and configured properly the modbus adapter, however, having mapped the basics for the integration like min SOC, mode etc, changing the values does nothing in the inverter. just get an error message when trying to write the values.

after digging, i see that I cannot even change the values of min SOC via the foxcloud app. changing min SOC just says write failed.
what could be causing this? old firmware? EVO simply doesn't support the feature? (hard to believe if it allows me to change the value) or something else? does anyone else experience this?
chat gpt said i may need installer/agent access to change settings?

thanks for any support offered.

Re: cannot change values like min SOC via foxcloud app
after checking another post, it seems part of the issue may be my firmwares are out of date. Currently I have:

INV_Master: 9.42
INV_Slave: 1.00
INV_Manager: 1.01
BAT_Master: 1.001

I have requested fox to perform an update.
Re: cannot change values like min SOC via foxcloud app
You beat me to it, I was going to post and say get firmware updated to rule out issue.
Hopefully you get it resolved quickly.
Re: cannot change values like min SOC via foxcloud app
I hope so. I’m hoping the update will enable the exposure and writing to the modbus registers as I need to get my HA integration up and running. I just watched my battery that was nicely serving my home tonight, dump everything into my EV because octopus went and scheduled a cheap rate period for an hour and my zappi said fill yer boots
Re: cannot change values like min SOC via foxcloud app
Ouch on the Zappi munching your battery, mine did this before I got my HA up and running, now I have it charging like a champ.

I am new to HA, so I guess that you need to know the correct registers to talk to your (different to mine) inverter. Once you have this list you can push values to it?
Re: cannot change values like min SOC via foxcloud app
That’s the plan. I emailed fox support and they emailed me back same day with a copy of the modbus register document knowing I had the evo so I hope once the fw is updated it’s a case of some mapping tweaks and I’m good to go… he says full of confidence 😂
Re: cannot change values like min SOC via foxcloud app
I was so full of confidence, then I did this to my inverter

Link in case you didn't see this :D

I dare say you should be ok with mapping registers (though I didn't need to with my KH inverter)
Re: cannot change values like min SOC via foxcloud app
Classic!
I’ve been running home assistant for years.
Using node red to do my automation of octopus and zappi pulling in the intelligent charging schedules then forcing zappi from eco+ to fast then back again after each window before 11pm. Will work a treat once I get the modbus integration going.
Re: cannot change values like min SOC via foxcloud app
I guess with IOG, Zappi and HA there is more than one way to achieve what you need.

Since IOG has control of my Zappi Glo, I don't touch anything on there in scheduling, like swapping Eco+/Fast modes, I let Octopus do it's thing.

So I have the system listen to the Off Peak Electricity On flag, and then I set the inverter to charge the battery.
This covers random IOG slots, and the overnight off peak. When peak electric events occur, I put inverter into Feed in mode and all works well for me.

I guess the end results are what it is all about, I just let Octopus do it's thing and leave it alone.

Exactly man. Many ways to skin a cat. The fun is the journey!

I need to delve a bit more into HA, I have only scratched the surface.
Meanwhile, time to follow the yellow brick road.
