Home Assistant - Dashboard what enties to link ?
Hi Guys,

I have setup Home assistant with HACS to connect to FoxESS cloud for data. But in the Energy dashboard, I cant seem to get the right combination of values for the various options for the values to look right (when compared to the Fox dashboard)

Does anyone have screenshot examples of which entities/sensors to use for this dashboard?
Thanks
Simon

Assuming you are modbus connected the entity names would best be set as follows -

Grid Consumption = ‘Grid Consumption Today’
Return to Grid = ‘Feed-in Today’
Solar Production = ‘Solar Generation Today’
Home Battery Energy charged into Battery = ‘Battery Charge Today’
Home Battery Energy discharged from Battery = ‘Battery Discharge Today’

Cloud is a bit more complicated, let me know if it’s that you are using

Note: The Fox dashboard calculates some entries it shows and for some systems they will be different than what the actual inverter shows - particularly if you have other sources of generation, for that you’ll need to build your own sensors that take into account meter2 (assuming it’s been fitted).
Re: Home Assistant - Dashboard what enties to link ?
sorry, yes im using foxess cloud api (not modbus). It seems to update every 5 seconds using the api.

I'm using this mod:
https://github.com/macxq/foxess-ha

The entities you listed below dont seem to exist on my install. All mine are called FoxESS - XXXXX
like below:

FoxESS - PVEnergyTotal
FoxESS - FeedIn
FoxESS - Grid Consumption
FoxESS - Grid Consumption Power
FoxESS - FeedIn Power
FoxESS - Bat Discharge
FoxESS - Bat Charge

The energy distribution widget looks completely wrong at the moment, power sources looks close but not 100%.

Ok the cloud entities you use on the dashboard are named as follows -

Grid Consumption = ‘Grid Consumption’ (sensor.foxess_grid_consumption)
Return to Grid = ‘Feedin’ (sensor.foxess_feedin)
Solar Production = ‘PV Energy Total’ (sensor.fox1_pvenergytotal)
Home Battery Energy charged into Battery = ‘Bat Charge’ (sensor.foxess_bat_charge)
Home Battery Energy discharged from Battery = ‘Bat Discharge’ (sensor.foxess_bat_discharge)

Hi Dave

I have checked the entities are setup like you suggest, screenshots link is below:

Its still not showing the same data as the FoxESS dashboard.

Looks like Solar PV, Grid are not matching (or close to matching).

HA DASH Value - Fox Dash Value
Solar - 6.7 kWH - 4.93 kW (Fox) + 3.47 kWh (Sungrow)
Home - 5.4 kWh - 1.1 kW
Grid Import - 4.5 kWh - 0 kW
Grid Export - 0 kWh - 1.75 kW
Batt Charge - 6.3 kWh - 5.55 kW
Batt DisCharge - 0.5 kWh - 0 kW

Re: Home Assistant - Dashboard what enties to link ?
I believe the basic HA energy dashboard is a daily total, not a "current" reading like the fox app provides (notice the different units - kW vs kWh). You need a different HA module.
