Difficulty charging batteries when charging my car
Hi,

New to the forum but have a query, I have been running my system for over 6 months but just recently updated some firmware settings. Started seeing a problem that the batteries wouldn’t fully charge whilst charging my EV (TESLA) however charged a second EV (Cupra Born) had no issues (I suspect due to smaller EV battery size), I am after some help or advice as to the problem as I also run a heat pump so quite a heavy load but only seems to be an issue on TESLA charge

Re: Difficulty charging batteries when charging my car
It’s very possible you are hitting an import limit as these settings were added in later firmware versions - these are effectively demand controls but with your EV charger its likely the settings are too low.

If you go to the inverter panel, and go into settings (password 0,0,0,0), on-grid, export control

There will likely be 2 settings in there for Import Limits, it’s helpful at this stage to know what your incoming main fuse size is (usually 80 or 100A), if we assume 80A, the setting ImportLimitCur should be set to 80A, and the setting ImportLimitPwr can be set to 18,000 watts.

Make a note of what’s there now and update them with these values and that should hopefully sort out the battery charging power when your EV is also charging.
Re: Difficulty charging batteries when charging my car
Hi Dave,

Important current limit is set at 100A, do I still need to set power at 18000W or a higher figure?
Re: Difficulty charging batteries when charging my car
Power = Amps x Voltage

So 100Amps x 230V = 23000Watts
Input 23000, and if rejected, lower down 1000 at a time.
