Hi
New install, my inverter seems to be going into a restart cycle every morning about 05:00 for an hour or so. Is this faulty? The installer says it's because there's no battery installed yet...
I have:
Fox ESS H1 G2
3.0kW 1ph Hybrid Inverter
Input 1: 1 string of 4 Trina Vertex S+ 450W Dual Glass Full Black N-Type Mono solar panels
Input 2: 1 string of 4 Trina Vertex S+ 450W Dual Glass Full Black N-Type Mono solar panels
No it’s not faulty, the inverter is powered from DC (Solar or Battery), so without battery it will power down at night and power back up again when there is enough solar to wake it up - it’s not a problem but obviously works a lot better with a battery as you’ll have statistics 24/7 then.
Ah OK. I didn't realise it's solely reliant on either the solar current input or stored battery energy.Dave Foster wrote: ↑Wed Mar 04, 2026 4:59 pm No it’s not faulty, the inverter is powered from DC (Solar or Battery), so without battery it will power down at night and power back up again when there is enough solar to wake it up - it’s not a problem but obviously works a lot better with a battery as you’ll have statistics 24/7 then.
I have a storage battery being installed next week so looking forward to that
Thanks, Dave
