Fox ess 6000 installed two weeks ago. All good until this morning. Now no pv output registering in app and app is continuously refreshing. Removed app and reloaded several times, no change. Tried on another phone, no change. Accessed via website on pc, no change. Updated software, no change. All solar devices are on-line. Help!
Did they connect them directly to the new inverter that's connected to the new battery?thepowellfamily wrote: ↑Thu Mar 05, 2026 5:41 pm Now no pv output registering in app and app is continuously refreshing. If you really want to know what the inverter is doing you need to look through the screens on that.
The app always refreshes now that the datalogger uploads every 5s or so, used to get 5 minute updates apparently.
Depends how it's all wired as to what might be wrong and how to fix it.
Everything was working fine until yesterday so I don’t think it’s a wiring issue. A fault must have developed in the inverter to cause the continuous refreshing and no pv info being transmitted?
Sounds like it could be firmware related.thepowellfamily wrote: ↑Fri Mar 06, 2026 8:08 am Everything was working fine until yesterday so I don’t think it’s a wiring issue. A fault must have developed in the inverter to cause the continuous refreshing and no pv info being transmitted?

Latest firmware has been installed and app version is up to date. Frustrating as I now don’t have the control of what I’m exporting or producing.
Have you shut down and restarted your batteries and inverter?thepowellfamily wrote: ↑Fri Mar 06, 2026 8:20 am Latest firmware has been installed and app version is up to date. Frustrating as I now don’t have the control of what I’m exporting or producing.
If that fails people had to contact tech support for it to be fixed.
Thanks for that. Not tried it….not sure how to shutdown and restart but will speak to installers. I have sent two email requests direct to Fox over the last few weeks. Never had a reply. Tried to ring and gave up waiting. Must say Fox customer service really sucks!
Here is what I was supplied with mine, though they missed the battery part.
Shut-Down Sequence – (Switch OFF)
1. Turn OFF the PV supply at the consumer unit (3).
2. Turn OFF the AC isolator at the consumer unit (3).
3. Switch the AC Isolator at the inverter to OFF (2).
4. Switch the DC Isolators at the Inverter to OFF (2).
5. Battery off
Then I do all of that in reverse.

It seems if you don't get any reply by next day you won't.thepowellfamily wrote: ↑Fri Mar 06, 2026 9:55 am I have sent two email requests direct to Fox over the last few weeks. Never had a reply. Tried to ring and gave up waiting. Must say Fox customer service really sucks!
I actually got answered 2 days in a row to the Aussie tech support number on the first attempt after a bazillion attempts in previous weeks where the call timed out and I got hung up on.
So shut down everything for 15 minutes. Deleted the app and reloaded it…..absolutely no change. My installer can monitor my system and he can see everything is working as it should be, so commas are good? My iPhone, and my desktop pc are the same…no info other than %battery storage which matches the screen.
They say a picture says a thousand words.
If you open your FoxCloud2.0 App, and scroll down so you can see Daily Production and your Battery SoC
Can you grab a screenshot?

I’ve added two images from my app screen. Yesterday at 10.54am full sun.
Today at 15.40pm, cloudy. Daily production screen, showing zero pv production!

In your first picture, you can see the PV was generated up to the 4th, then stopped. Not sure what has happened on this date, and no fault codes shown etc.
Under your Inverter, you should see a physical DC isolator, I presume this is set to On right now? It might be worth turning it off at this isolator, and on again.
Can you let us know if you are using both string inputs under the bottom MPPT1 & MPPT2 also, or just MPPT1.

Update on my issues….
I shutdown and rebooted per the instructions in the thread (thanks). I deleted the app and reinstalled, during the shutdown. On reboot the app seems to be working BUT is still continually refreshing, which is a pain.
Prior to shutdown my min SOC was set at 40%. This setting did not work as at shutdown my battery SOC was 29%.
Will monitor things over the weekend but having had the system installed only two weeks ago I am not impressed with the reliability and functionality of the Fox ESS products! I am rapidly loosing confidence.

That 5 second refresh is a nothingburger. It is a new firmware that gives you 5s refresh on energy stats vs the old way of 5mins of data being sent to the cloud.
The system still sends data to Fox every 5m, but locally it gives you a snapshot every 5s, so it is working fine.
The SoC % of a battery is just a 'construct' of the BMS inside the battery measuring cell Voltages, given your system is new, it takes a few charge and discharges to the 10% and 100% indicated SoC to calibrate.
The lack of PV power being shown is your issue, and something is stopping PV from being generated.
It is also very dull locally, so checking PV today could be an issue, I am making 60-80W out of a possible 6160W.
Have you found out if you are using one or two MPPT's?

I don't think that would do anything as the datalogger uploads to Fox ESS servers and then the app downloads over the internet and never does anything directly to the battery.thepowellfamily wrote: ↑Sat Mar 07, 2026 11:34 am I deleted the app and reinstalled, during the shutdown.
You may need therapy then, as it will always say refreshing because the datalogger is always uploading to Fox ESS servers so the web portal and app can always show fresh information.thepowellfamily wrote: ↑Sat Mar 07, 2026 11:34 am On reboot the app seems to be working BUT is still continually refreshing, which is a pain.
Another known issue. If you even have 1 schedule, even if disabled, those settings no longer apply, you now edit schedules and set min/max soc in them.thepowellfamily wrote: ↑Sat Mar 07, 2026 11:34 am Prior to shutdown my min SOC was set at 40%. Thanks for the info. The pv power is now being shown in the app since reboot. Yes it’s very dull and cloudy but shows 480 watt production so seems to be working OK.
Will continue to see how things go.

If you are in self-use mode, you should see in your App a green line forming under Battery SoC, if you have spare (depending on your HOME load)
I think tomorrow lunchtime you should see some Sun locally for you around 12pm to 2pm, and you can check again.
Fingers crossed for you.
