Battery not charging at night
Morning all

We've had a major outage with internet here. In brief, the comms cabinet down the road is running on a battery. They change it in the morning and we get a few hours of internet. Then it dies and we have to wait for the next day for a bit more.

Some time ago, I disabled my schedules and was controlling everything from Home assistant. Basically, if the Octopus rate was 7p then force charge. Meant I got some extra hours when my car was charging during the day. All worked perfectly.

At the moment, I've turned all that off but I can't for the life of me get the battery to charge at night again. Even if I set the charge time on the app to 5 minutes in the future and wait, the bettery doesn't start charging.

The battery charges perfectly on solar and then runs the house as expected.

One thing I've noticed is that the online portal doesn't match the mobile app. On that, the schedules are set to 00:00 - 00:00 and grid charging is disabled. If I try and edit it I get an error - 44098 Write failed.

Re: Battery not charging at night
I would cancel all the App/Website controls, and stick with HA.
Turn off your IOG automations, and create a single basic overnight charge session in HA for now.

I'm thinking the same. It's been working perfectly for months. I should have mentioned that another variable I've changed is the WiFi. I've been using the EE router since we moved in. But, since this outage (11 days so far) I've installed my Unifi Dream Machine and moved everything to that. I'm going to set my Starlink up today. Then it's *my* kit running everything in the house and I can switch to Starlink if this ever happens again. I would have done this days ago but EE keep saying that it'll definitely be fixed "today".
Re: Battery not charging at night
Ouch 11 days is painful, just as well you were working on a backup solution it seems.
Re: Battery not charging at night
Yeah, 10 months since we moved in of "It's all working at the moment. I'll implement my cunning backup plan tomorrow"

One of those lessons. It'll take me a couple of hours to drill some holes and get the Starlink exactly where I want it. If I'd done that at the start, I'd have been looking at 10 seconds work to move the Cat 6 cable from the ISP router to the Starlink and been up and running.

I just know that if I do this today, EE will fix it and it'll never go wrong again. At the moment, Openreach are saying Wednesday though - 2 weeks and a day.
