41206 error when updating W6 datalogger firmware from 1.08 to 1.09 via app
41206 error received when updating the W6 datalogger from 1.08 to 1.09 on the KH7 (fully updated) via the android Foxcloud 2.0 app.

Do the datalogger firmware updates have change notes? Should I care about 1.08 vs 1.09? I use a VPP. I suspect that the recent datalogger updates will either relate to VPPs, or relate to the app firmware update functionality.

The spreadsheet says this:

11/11/2025 Datalogger W6 Firmware 1.08 Production (Latest)
Re: 41206 error when updating W6 datalogger firmware from 1.08 to 1.09 via app
I think the speadsheet is out of date, and the Fox site has also not been updated.
I can push the button on my FW upgrade and see if it succeeds, and let you know.

1st attempt failed (no error code)

2nd attempt it took

Is your datalogger frozen or still responding?
Re: 41206 error when updating W6 datalogger firmware from 1.08 to 1.09 via app
Many thanks :-)

Everything still working on 1.08 since the failed update to 1.09. I didn't try retrying it since I wanted to see if anyone had feedback, but if a retry worked for you, then it's worth trying again.

Retry succeeded - modbus updates to home assistant working, but it doesn't seem to be talking to the app now, with 1.09. Curious. Not an immediate problem but might become one. I'll check the wifi settings to make sure they weren't lost.
Re: 41206 error when updating W6 datalogger firmware from 1.08 to 1.09 via app
I lost comms too with the new version, I tried to swap WiFi networks as I have 2 available.
I set it to a new SSID, and nothing.

Rebooted system, and it came back.

The app started to get data again, so I swapped SSID's back to original one, but not sure if it needs a reboot to take it.
I did notice the 5s refresh has gone, it might come back in time.

I will leave it for a while, and do a reboot in a bit if the data stops showing.
Re: 41206 error when updating W6 datalogger firmware from 1.08 to 1.09 via app
It was a bit delayed, but the 5s refresh rates have returned :D
Hopefully yours catches up soon.
Re: 41206 error when updating W6 datalogger firmware from 1.08 to 1.09 via app
Similar experience on mine, I updated the wifi details on the app, it didn't seem to work the first time, but worked the second. I didn't reboot the inverter itself.

So I'm now re-connected to the app, and 5 second updates also restarted after a few minutes.

If everyone needs to reconnect the wifi, I suspect the update could be be problematic for some.

Weirdly, mine did get 5s refresh back.
Checking later it was lost :D

Reminds me of when the cloud went out the other week, took a bit of time to stabilse afterwards.
Re: 41206 error when updating W6 datalogger firmware from 1.08 to 1.09 via app
fyi A couple of weeks ago, I also received the error 41206 error when updating W6 datalogger firmware from 1.08 to 1.09 via iOS app. It didn't update, but the 2nd attempt worked, although it then took 30-40 minutes for network connectivity to re-establish.
Re: 41206 error when updating W6 datalogger firmware from 1.08 to 1.09 via app
Just seen an update to 1.10, applied update and the 5s refresh rate was working immediately.
Re: 41206 error when updating W6 datalogger firmware from 1.08 to 1.09 via app
Can you recall seeing release notes for 1.10? If not I think I’ll leave it until June, just in case there’s a bug :-)
Re: 41206 error when updating W6 datalogger firmware from 1.08 to 1.09 via app
I don't think they publish the change log for the datalogger firmware at all.

The firmware change log for the inverter seems to get published a month or so after the actual firmware is released.
Re: 41206 error when updating W6 datalogger firmware from 1.08 to 1.09 via app
I upgraded a couple of days ago from 1.09 to 1.10, the upgrade took a couple of minutes and normal operation resumed as soon as it had finished. 5 Second refreshes are now working, with 1.09 I believe they worked for a bit then stopped. So I believe 1.10 is a safer upgrade than 1.09 was. A stability patch perhaps, who knows.

New FW v1.11

Applied and working right away.
Re: 41206 error when updating W6 datalogger firmware from 1.08 to 1.09 via app
It would be nice to know what changes have been introduced since version 1.10.

Agree, but it's a basic device so not much they can add.

The inverter mind you/battery are release notes that I would love to see.
From what I can tell, they have assigned someone to the position finally, but could take a while to catch up on a few months worth!
Re: 41206 error when updating W6 datalogger firmware from 1.08 to 1.09 via app
Well it broke from 1.08 to 1.09, this update introduced relatively significant changes, so I’d like to know when they are significant changes or just bug fixes. I probably would’ve skipped 1.09 and waited 1.10 which I believe was primarily bug fixes. I have found that overtime when you google what’s changed you can find release information, but if I Google this update today I can’t find anything. Yes I hope that fox-ess start doing release notes, even if very basic.

From another forum, posted by a Mod (16th July)

Hi,

We apologise for the lack of updates regarding this. The case has recently been reassigned to another member of our team, which has unfortunately resulted in a delay in communication. Going forward, we'll ensure you receive regular updates and will continue working with you to help you get the best out of your system.

I am hoping it was not BS, but if correct we might actually start seeing some progress on this.
