*updated, skip to end! KH Master v 1.70
Hello:

My KH 10.5 just got pushed firmware Master 1.70 and my inverter does not work anymore (thinks there is a grid fault when there is not, possible other problems too like EPS output from battery is not steady either). Anyone else received this version? Thanks.

Re: KH Master v 1.70
still this I guess, not fixed: viewtopic.php?t=3016

Can anyone please send me master v 1.60 I can put on a usb stick and update tonight?

Master 1.60 and Manager 1.58 was mostly working. Only updated due an issue and Fox support said I was not on current firmware so they would not help!

Re: KH Master v 1.70
On EPS port, with manager 1.70 voltage is varying wildly from 210v to 240v (only a brief sampling because my house was not liking it). Luckly I have a bypass I can power house via grid.

So, v1.70, cannot use grid and cannot use battery (EPS)!

@Will

Any chance you could send me master v 1.60 for KH10.5 I can put on a usb stick and update myself tonight?

I just need to know the folder structure / names inverter is looking for and the file. My manager was not updated so still 1.58 and my slave is 1.02.

Re: *updated, skip to end! KH Master v 1.70
_________

OK, this little disaster seems to have been caused by a failed update leaving the inverter in a partially-functioning state.

Though my installer started the update then became unavailable with any responses starting at about 4:45pm :evil: , about 5 hours later FoxESS support picked up the email ticket chain. I think that person re-applied the update to Master 1.70 then it started to behave again. He subsequently put me on Manager 1.66, slave remains at 1.02. Then he looked at my battery versions and said they should be updated.

(will update post when I see new versions)

BMS 1.013 > ?
IVU: 1.00 > ?
S01: 1.06 > ?
(all S's the same)

I guess the grid fault issue with KH that started at 1.64 maybe has been solved.

This was a frustrating day.

Fingers (and toes) all crossed for you.
Watching with popcorn from my 1.60 version.
Re: *updated, skip to end! KH Master v 1.70
I got a FW upgrade notification today through

Master 1.60 -> 1.69
Manager 1.58 -> 1.64
Slave 1.02 -> 1.03

Have to see how they perform
Re: *updated, skip to end! KH Master v 1.70
So they just spray different version to different people. Indeed we are beta testers every time.

Re: *updated, skip to end! KH Master v 1.70
I was now offered 'slave' 1.03 in my app, so I did that to be all on the latest.

My battery versions are old though and Fox support said several attempts to update failed. I'd like to get these all on USB so I can have them as rollback sources for the future, and maybe I can get the battery versions newer also.

Yup, fire off random upgrade here and there... look at support tickets to see which get's the most reports :D

Fox support pushed the battery update last night:

BMS 1.013 > 2.019
IVU: 1.00 > (same, no update)
S01: 1.06 > 1.15

How are those versions looking? I got offered the same, haven't applied them yet though since I don't know if there is anything relevant to me in them. Release notes page on the fox website not yet updated, and in my experience will take a month or so.

They seem ok so far, nothing leaping out with my usage as a headache.
It did fail updating one of the 3, but caught itself and applied fine in the end without restart or needing Fox assistance.
Re: *updated, skip to end! KH Master v 1.70
Hello:

Just to wrap this up, maybe will start a new thread elsewhere for the eventual outcome, but the update from Master v1.60 to Master v1.70 and the inverter malfunctioning after the update (until it was applied a second time) DID DESTROY MY REFRIGERATOR that was on EPS port. It was only in service for about 4 years so even though not the finest brand, a failure was not expected nor had there been any foreshadowing of a problem with it, and it 100% coincided with the bad power from the inverter during this update.

Further, during the bad EPS power time, an APC UPS also on the EPS output was clicking a lot (going into battery mode and back to mains mode) indicating fluctuating power (usable vs unusable).

One thing unusual about my system is I use a power meter instead of a CT clamp, but of course that is a supported option. But it is possible this situation might not happen with a CT clamp. Also, if you are not using anything connected to EPS output probably nothing will be damaged.

I would love anyone who has EPS wired up to put a volt meter or a UPS on it and see if this happens to you if you go to 1.70 on a KH.

And for anyone, does the v1.70 update (from something like 1.60 or earlier) cause a grid fault to occur for you? If so, what solved it? For me a reboot did not solve it. Update was re-applied by Fox tech support.
