There is an existing topic about forced discharge not working. I have now got to the bottom of this with the help of other contributors and the problem is that the inverter maximum export power keeps resetting.
It seems to last one or perhaps 2 days, but then I notice the forced discharge (although set up properly in app) has stopped actually discharging. I go to the Inverter, check the settings and it has reverted to 00002W again.
As highlighted on the other topic, the installer of my ~20kwh battery, did not apply for G99, so I only have G98 (2680kw) I have now found someone who has aplied for G99, so I should get a higher export limit.
I was wondering if the grid/DNO could have reset my inverter, but it seems to happen whether I have 2680 or a higher value.
As of now I do a small forced discharge (30 mins) to happen before I wake up, then if its stopped working again I'll go down to my basement and reset the max export level on the inverter.
If anyone has any ideas please let me know. The battery is set to never go below 10% so its not that.
I'll keep on with this and Ill see if when I get G99 it stops. Obviously this is not ideal for if I go on holiday for example.
I spoke to Octopus and they said they dont monitor the export limit, they just pay for what they get.

Hi James,
I think you are getting the numbers mixed up a little, G98 is 3680W (or something like that)
Now, you might be changing the export limit at the inverter screen, but are you changing the certification mode that it is set to?
5min 48sec Will talks about the G98/G99 mode here, you need to set it to G99 if you want to set export above 3.68kW.

Hi Im not trying to set it to G99 as i dont have it yet.
Im trying to stop my inverter to resetting its max export to 00002w, because that is none.

However I'm interested to see what DNO setting i have in Safety
Can I just check when you are changing the export power, do you mean the ImportLimitPwr in the Export Control menu or the Export Limit under the same menu.
The ImportLimitPwr I can understand would stop your charge from working, but the Export Power setting wouldn’t affect charge, only what you can export at.
If any of these settings are being changed without you doing it, I would suspect that you may have a VPP connection setup or similar remote access that allows, it cannot be changed by your DNO, the G98/G99 are simply approvals it gives them no control of your inverter,

I am not talking about charge Im talking about forced discharge
If your max export is 2 watts it doesn't work

As expected this morning the forced discharge in MaxExportPower had reset from 6000 to 00002watts.
when Im here I can re-enter every morning but its pretty useless
Ill raise it with Fox, but not holding my breath.

Are you using any VPP like Axle energy? If not, then have you rebooted system fully?
It could be a firmware bug, so hopefully Fox will solve this for you soon.

NO Im not using a VPP, just Octopus Flux
If you mean have i turned it on and off, then yes. I did it in this order
AC, Battery, DC
and this order:
DC, AC, Battery.
The interesting thing is that initally I thought it was a forced discharge issue so i raised a ticket with Fox , but Im pretty sure it was the Export Limit Power, because the guy at fox then updated the firmware to the latest version, but the issue didnt go away.
