Inverted failing to transition back to Self-Use mode
Inverter Model: H1-5.0-E-G2-WL
Inverter Serial Number: 605H5020629xxxx
Battery Model: Fox ESS 11kW Stack

Issue Description:
I am experiencing a persistent firmware state-lock bug on my Gen 2 single-phase system. When utilizing the Mode Scheduler for an overnight Forced Charge (02:00–05:00), the inverter fails to transition back into Self-Use mode once the time window expires.

Even when outside the scheduled time window, or when an explicit Self-Use block is programmed, the inverter holds the battery frozen (e.g., at 45%) and forces the property to import 100% of its load from the grid. This issue persists even after deleting the schedules entirely, requiring a full hard DC/AC power cycle to temporarily clear the register.

Also the battery will now not charge above 45%

Edit: I am using App v 2.2.17.. My inverter versions are: Master 1.57; Slave 1.04; Manager 1.43

Does anyone know if there is an easy fix. I have created a support ticket but dont know how long they will take to respond.

Thanks

You may want to edit/include your firmware versions, this could help with replies.

Thanks for the nudge. have now included the versions
Re: Inverted failing to transition back to Self-Use mode
Firmware versions are ok, if you have any VPP or Octopus integration setup the inverter will do what that schedule says, but if you are controlling it yourself the best option is to start by going to the website and delete any visible schedules there.

In the app (or website) make sure that your MinSoc's are set to 10%, and your MaxSoc.

Then in the app set Self Use workmode, does that work correctly ?
Re: Inverted failing to transition back to Self-Use mode
Hi Ok, thanks for the post. I have deleted the schedule on the web site and made sure that they are cleared from the app. I am using self User mode. I have switched off both the inverted and battery for 10 minutes.

In the Fox ESS app, I dont see any schedules, but if I look at the Energy Stats app, there is a schedule set of 00:00 - 23:59. Self Use. I dont understand that

Am I just unfortunate or is this a general problem?
Re: Inverted failing to transition back to Self-Use mode
No it’s the way the new Fox schedules work, it always creates a default schedule that runs in between the schedules so you always know what the mode will be between schedules.

One of the problems is it can be created with invalid min / max soc settings and you cannot get to it to change it.

As you have Energy Stats, go into the 00:00-23:59 and delete it, then save it, it will get re-created again next time you use the app/website but as long as your min/maxsoc settings are set correctly it should in future behave as you expect.
