My system - KH10 63Amp CB, EQ4800 42kw battery, 80Amp House Main Circuit Breaker before when on KH10 Version 1.67 Master could import form grid at around 17.5kwh to house.
After the upgrade to Master V1.69 the max import from grid to house is around 63Amp/14.6kwh. The Inverter has the max import current still set at 80 and max power import still set at 20000W. In fox ess cloud 2.0 i have max ImportPowerLimit 20Kwh.
However the system is clearly limiting import power from grid down to around 63Amp/14.6kwh.
Has anyone else had this issue since upgrading for KH10 to Master 1.69/ Slave 1.03/ARM/Manager 1.64????
Can Fox Ess remove this imposed limit on my house grid load? Which appears to be effecting any KH10 inverter above 1.68 Master firmware level, as confirmed with other users. FOX ESS have no right to limit the power to the house, only that to the inverter.
Hi you are explaining the issue very well. I have noticed exactly the same issue; I am based in the UK. My inverter and battery system is almost identical to yours. I have raised the issue to fox ess support. I know the support team are trying hard to help with many problems, but the issue remains to be resolved. The discussion ended in a promise that the issue will be addressed in the next firmware update.
Typically at night where electricity is cheap and you may want to force charge your solar batteries and at the same time charge your EV and heat the house with a heat pump or set the laundry machine etc, the KH10 inverter sees via the CT clamp that more than 63A are incoming from the grid to the house and decides for some reason that the maximum incoming current from the grid to the house should be 63A instead. For example at night you want your inverter to draw from the grid 45A to force charge your solar battery and at the same time you want to draw another 32A from the grid to charge your EV and also draw another 16A to power some other loads in the house. That makes a total of 93A to draw from the grid at night. If the house circuits and mains fuse are designed for a total of 100A it should not be a problem at all. However, the KH10 will see that an incomimg current to the house of 32A + 16A = 48A is coming from the grid and will limit the maximum current it draws from the grid to force charge the solar battery to 63A - 48A = 15A, instead of 45A that you are telling it to draw.
This is clearly wrong because the KH10 assumes that the house circuitry can only handle incoming current up to 63A, which may not be the case for modern or updated houses.
Even if a user increases the maximum import limit setting in the app to more than 14500W which roughly corresponds to 63A at 230V, the inverter ignores this command. I don't know if this is done on purpose but it is not to protect the inverter. It might possibly be there to avoid users to blow up the mains house fuse if they don't know what size it is. Some forums suggest to move the CT clamp to a place in the house circuit that does not monitor the power that goes to the EV, which give a solution, but I think this is not how the fox ess system should be opetating.
Anyway, if this is a matter of correcting the problem in the next firmware update, there should be a popup warning in the app or some sort of disclaimer which makes sure the user setting up the maximum import limit has checked what their mains fuse size is beforehand.

Hi, Thank-you, this must effect multiple people in UK as they don't have similar limits like in AUS.
Also if you move the CT clamp then the grid import/house load values would be incorrect in the app so would the meter values, and wouldn't that effect how the inverter knows where to send power to manage house loads vs battery vs export to grid.

I have now also tested KH firmware version 1.70 and the grid import limit is still locked to 63Amps/14.7kw for KH models. So it has been introduced from version 1.68 up for fox ess firmware master for all KH models.
I have spent over a week with foxess Australian support/R&D team trying to get them to understand the issue, but they couldn't understand the difference between grid import limit and inverter limit. Then to add further insult tell me this is limited by compliance and Australian safety and grid connection standard. Clearly not understanding that some grid connections are allowed at 100Amp, that the KH model is sold in countries across the world, even sent them documentation from my electricity supplier stating grid connections allowed up to 100Amps per phase, photos of an 80AMP service fuse and MCB that electricians have installed approved by my electricity supplier of 80AMPs. Noting my complaint install of a 63AMP circuit breaker for the inverter in australian market.
I am regrettably having to go back to 1.67 which is the latest release where this grid import hard limit of 63amps didn't exist.
