I’m hoping someone can help me figure this out. I have a FoxESS H1-5.0-E-G2.
The inverter/battery operates normally during the day but at exactly 6:00pm it stops discharging the battery. It then stays like this throughout the night and returns to normal operation at 6:00am, when the battery starts discharging again, and charges back to 100%. It literally flatlines on power the inverter sees at 6pm.
For example, tonight the battery was still at 87% SOC, but after 6pm the house was importing almost all of its power from the grid.
So although it technically reports “Discharging”, the battery is effectively doing nothing.
My normal setup is Self Use mode with Force Charge from 10am–2pm, when I charge the battery from grid when on top of the solar.
I definitely havent configured anything for 6pm–6am, which is why the exact timing is strange.
Firmware:
Master: 1.59
Slave: 1.04
Manager/ARM: 1.78
BMS: 2.013
Has anyone seen anything like this?
I even deleted the mode schedule I had in place to see if sitting on self use would work - no change to behaviour.
Any suggestions on what settings I should check would be appreciated.
Are you running some kind of smart tariff that might be taking control over your battery?
Have you restarted the system, to see if the manager has crashed?
Does the system pull any power from the battery during the daytime, under heavy loads?

Thanks for the response and to answer your question, yes restarted entire system (soft and hard restart). There were no tariff’s set and I didn’t make any config changes to the system directly.. After any hard or soft restart, the discharging from battery starts as normal - and then after 3 minutes or so, inverter goes back into Standby mode and starts pulling that same power amount from the grid. Note this was when there were no schedules in place at all.
In saying all this - I believe I finally figured out the fix (more likely workaround) after some trial and error. I got some inspiration after seeing some other users experience similar types of issues but more related to an invisible min SoC trigger.
My fix steps:
- Deleted all existing schedules in the mode scheduler.
- Added several 1-3 minute schedules against each of the charge types (force charge / force discharge etc) in the 6pm-6am range.
- Saved this
- Deleted all these schedules I just created. Saved this.
- Then added one longer self use schedule cover the overnight period, e.g. 1am-5am
- Then within a few minutes of this, the inverter started discharging.
It seems there was a firmware upgrade to 1.59 in the last couple of days. I believe adding and removing schedules triggered removal of whatever hidden schedule had someone been introduced from the recent upgrade.
I will monitor overnight and post an update.

Still works. Hopefully my workaround helps someone else
When I was thinking of tariff, I was talking more about say Octopus Intelligent Flux (or some equivalent) that has 'hold' of your battery for control. Good to hear, sounded like something was pushing in duff settings.
If it's stable a few days, then it sounds like you have a winner.
