EPS BOX-SP fitted outside showing signs of rust.
A word of warning for anyone else who has an EPS BOX-SP fitted outside:

After 4 (winter) months of being fitted outside my EPS box showed signs of rust a 3 locations. Two of these locations were at the external earthing terminals. I pointed this out to Fox and they have been very pro-active in replacing my box with a new one temporarily (same design), promising to upgrade to a better design once changes they are implementing have rippled through to production. My original installer, UPS Solar, have also been helpful in re-fitting.

I have applied rust proofing zinc paint to the area of exposed metal around the earthing terminals (which aren't used in my installation) to stop rusting starting on my interim box. In applications where the earthing terminals are used the rusting could be a safety risk over time.

The third rust location was at a hinge which bothered me less, but could still cause problems over time.
Re: EPS BOX-SP fitted outside showing signs of rust.
Thanks for the heads up on installation location.
I asked my installer if this should really be fitted outside, as we are coastal and everything metal rusts,
they said no problem the boxes are fully IP66 and meant to be installed outside and close to mains supply.

I found an installation manual, which essentially says install out of direct rain & sun ... I have both ... so am a bit worried.

What did your installer advise?
