Foxess Cloud 3.0 App ideas
Mode Scheduler needs day-of-week control

The current scheduler needs the ability to nominate specific days.

Household usage is not the same every day. For example, weekend usage is often higher because people are home, appliances are used more, and the battery can run down faster overnight.

If the user forgets to manually adjust the schedule before the weekend, the battery may discharge too aggressively and leave the household short by Sunday or Monday morning.

Recommended improvement:

Add day-of-week scheduling, including:
- Monday to Friday
- Saturday and Sunday
- individual day selection
- public holiday mode
- seasonal profiles

This would allow different weekday and weekend battery strategies.

Add AI / smart tariff management

FoxESS should introduce an intelligent battery management tool where the customer can upload or select their electricity plan, and the system automatically optimises the battery schedule.

There is clearly enough plant-level data available to support this. The system already knows generation, consumption, battery SOC, charge/discharge behaviour and grid import/export. It should be able to recommend and manage settings that maximise value for the owner.

Recommended improvement:

Create an “Optimise my plan” feature where the user can:

- upload their tariff or select their retailer plan
- enter export reward windows
- enter free or low-cost charging windows
- set battery reserve preferences
- set a goal, such as lowest bill, maximum export revenue, or backup protection
- let FoxCloud recommend or automate the best schedule

This would be a major product advantage and would make FoxESS much more attractive in markets with dynamic tariffs and virtual power plant-style plans.
Re: Foxess Cloud 3.0 App ideas
I do agree that it would be good to have the ability to schedule different patterns for different days, not sure I would want Fox to overcomplicate things with holiday modes etc. as there would be more bugs in the software no doubt :D

As for features, might be worth looking here, https://fox-ess.uk/2026/02/06/foxcloud-2-0/
They are being worked upon, just not fully released.

A good post BTW, hopefully there can be more discussion on the matter/input from others too.

Re: Foxess Cloud 3.0 App ideas
Would it be possible for a way of setting applicable dates for tariffs be incorporated ?? Seems to me that the required data in kW and date already exists going back .. just needs a way of inputting a date band to apply it to .... would not only allow idiots like me to set the system up from when it was installed (rather then when I found out I could set it up - 6 weeks later) it would be accurate when rates/tariffs change.

At present it only runs from the date set up, and as I understand it, a tariff rate change doesn't run from the date changed, but defaults to the whole data set, being able to set start/finish dates would prevent both problems.
