Hi,
I have my battery set to force charge overnight using my Eon NextDriveSmart 12-6 off peak tariff. That works but once the battery hits 100% it stops charging and starts discharging meaning I start my peak day at less than 100%. How can I force the system to use the cheap rate once the battery has hit 100%?
Doing this will give me the best chance of maxing out the amount I export @ £1KWh with Axle during grid events.
If I can't do this using the Fox App can I use my Home Assistant setup?
TIA
Depending on your firmware, if you can see this red choice here... then you can set it to 'hold' with 'backup or standby'
Thanks for that. I've now split my 12-6 off peak window with the 1st 3 hours force charging and the 2nd half to backup then self use through the day.
Not ideal but I'll see how it goes. Pity the app can't handle this out of the box as I'm sure it must because common use case.

Not sure what hardware/firmware you've got, but the app handles that situation fine for me with 'Standby' selected as the 'After charging cutoff' option.

You will have to see how you go, and monitor the charge when Winter kicks in, as the temperature will limit the charge rates. Unless you have large battery/small inverter, you should be ok.Numbfoot83 wrote: ↑Fri Oct 30, 2026 3:12 pm Thanks for that. Are you missing the red border choice in your scheduler?
Thanks for the replies. I think you've cleared it up for me. I was missing that after the mode schedule period ended there was a setting to get it back to self-use got the day
Cheers

Glad the schedule-end behavior makes sense now, that transition back to self-use is easy to overlook. On the winter point, it's worth tracking charge rate on the coldest mornings since low battery temperature can slow things even within your off-peak window, especially with a modest inverter. Splitting the window the way you described seems reasonable; just keep an eye on whether the backup portion actually refills enough before the cheap rate ends on shorter, colder days.

To OP: I recommend once you get a run of frosty mornings is good to check, not just day 1. So when daytime temperatures are in single digits and nights are close to freezing for a few days with frosts, then is the time to look.
It's a good point you all make. Last year it generally fully recharged overnight and I'm really now trying to find tune my use of the system.
