Hi, I am a relatively new user, our system was switched on at the end of November, so just getting close to one months worth of data. I did the efficiency calculation as shown on TonyM's github site using the FoxCloud v2 with the following results.
EFFICIENCY FROM FOX CLOUD v2
Dec-24
Production, kWh 107.3
Grid Purchase, kWh 477.7
Total In, kWh 585
Export, kWh 24.7
Consumption, kWh 494.3
Total Out, kWh 519
Efficiency 88.7%
I would be interested to hear what other people's efficiency is. My value of about 89% seems a tad low but we do have 2 EVs so a lot of power in and out is charging them. I also think the battery SoC was probably about 50% at start-up and around 90% when I took these readings. Would make a few kWh difference. Anyway, let us know what your efficiencies are.
Happy Christmas to everyone.
Hugh

KH10 with 4 off ECS4800 batteries.
20 Jinko 435W panels in 2 strings. 10 on house, south facing, 10 on barn, east facing.
Solar installation active on 27/11/2024. Export MPAN active on 30.12/2024.
Zappi V2 charger and 2 EVs.
Currently on Octopus Intelligent Go tariff.
Home Assistant modbus integration (Now working - ish)

Are you charging the EVs via the battery?
Most people try to avoid that because a) the extra cycles aren't good for the battery, and b) it is inefficient, and instead charge both the battery and the EVs overnight on cheap-rate power (for example, 6.7p/kWh with E-on Next Drive, or 7p/kWh on Octopus). You can still export with those two tariffs (16.5p/kWh for E-on, and 15p/kWh for Octopus).

No! Definitely not! I use Home Assistant to monitor when the Zappi charger is active and then set the house battery current to zero until charging has finished. I am on Octopus Intelligent Go, so in fact all the charging takes place at low-tariff rate (7.0 p/kWh), irrespective of the charging schedule.

here are my figures for December, we are quite heavy power users and also charge the EV (which occasionally charges the home batteries during the day).HughInDevon wrote: Mon Dec 23, 2024 12:34 pm Hi, I am a relatively new user, our system was switched on at the end of November, so just getting close to one months worth of data.
