Im trying to determine how my solar installation is performing. I have solar panels, inverter, and bateries.
However the terminology is confusing. Can someone tell me in laymans terms(or give me a pointer where I can find it out) what the following headings mean:

AC output energy(kWh)
Discharge energy(kWh)
Load consumption(kWh)
Import energy(kWh)
Charge energy(kWh)
PV yield(kWh)
Export energy(kWh)

TIA

Can you say where are you seeing those headings, are they in the V1 app, on the cloud, in a data report - preferably with an example, Fox use differing terminology depending on how you view the data.

I got this as a report from somewhere within FOXESS i couldnt find the place I generated the report from, FOX need to get their act together and try and put things in one obvious place.
It took me ages of googling to find the right place and now I cant remember where. Anyway it was downloaded as a csv named Enegry_Report_Annual_2024..........

Plant Name Item 2024_9 2024_10
All sites AC output energy(kWh) 417.9 464.5
All sites Discharge energy(kWh) 181.6 242.4
All sites Load consumption(kWh) 369 563.5
All sites Import energy(kWh) 146.2 466.1
All sites Charge energy(kWh) 119.2 209.9
All sites PV yield(kWh) 478.8 357.4
All sites Export energy(kWh) 174.9 166.1
Mike Fraser Load consumption(kWh) 369 563.5
Mike Fraser PV yield(kWh) 478.8 357.4
Mike Fraser Import energy(kWh) 146.2 466.1
Mike Fraser AC output energy(kWh) 417.9 464.5
Mike Fraser Export energy(kWh) 174.9 166.1
Mike Fraser Charge energy(kWh) 119.2 209.9
Mike Fraser Discharge energy(kWh) 181.6 242.4

Hope that helps and if anyone can point me back to where I generated this, I would be eternally grateful.

Thanks,

Mike

ps apologies for the lack of formatting looks good until I preview or submit it.

Hmmm I know what you mean, I don't often look at these reports but when I do they seem to have changed - I switched to home assistant many years ago and I get all of my statistics from that, it takes some effort to set it up in the first place but very rewarding when setup.

It looks like you only have a single site 'Mike Fraser' and so when it talks about 'All Sites' that's a duplication of your stats - a lot of people have multiple inverters and that's where the 'All Sites' makes more sense.

I'll try and answer the rest

Load consumption(kWh) - This is your house load for the period specified.
PV yield(kWh) - This is your PV production for the period specified
Import energy(kWh) - This is how much energy you have imported from the grid (it should tally with your smart meter but it will never be as accurate, the smart meter takes into account real time power factor, although it should be within a few %)
AC output energy(kWh) - This is all output through the inverter whether from solar or battery i.e. it is all of the work that the inverter has done.
Export energy(kWh) - This is all of the power you have exported for the period specified.
Charge energy(kWh) - This is the amount of charge the batteries have received (from solar or grid) for the period specified
Discharge energy(kWh) - This is the amount of discharge the batteries have provided in the period specified

Thanks for the explanation kinda figures out the sites etc.

Not sure how the figures marry up (apologies if Im being thick here)

Load consumption(kWh) - This is your house load for the period specified. 4184.30
PV yield(kWh) - This is your PV production for the period specified 3176.00
Import energy(kWh) - This is how much energy you have imported from the grid (it should tally with your smart meter but it will never be as accurate, the smart meter takes into account real time power factor, although it should be within a few %) 3357.20
AC output energy(kWh) - This is all output through the inverter whether from solar or battery i.e. it is all of the work that the inverter has done. 3847.70
Export energy(kWh) - This is all of the power you have exported for the period specified. 1624.70
Charge energy(kWh) - This is the amount of charge the batteries have received (from solar or grid) for the period specified 1459.60
Discharge energy(kWh) - This is the amount of discharge the batteries have provided in the period specified 1774.00

These are from the start of the installation, but the amount for charge energy is 1459 kWh yet the discharge is 1774 shouldn't they be the same or much closer?
Also the amount of Electricity used 4184.30 is surely made up of imported electricity + PV yield - exported electricity. = 3357+3176-1624 = 4909.
