Hi, I’m a new installer of fox Ess i currently have 2 systems I need help with configuring parallel mode with.
I have 1 system with 2 x H3-8.0-E inverters with a lost meter fault on what will be the slave, with its can connection and dip switches set as per instructions and I’m very confused as I have double and triple checked this
I also have another site with 2 x H3-Pro-25.0 inverters with the same issue except neither of them will work as the meter in connected into an Ems, Which is all set up and online / updated with again the correct connections everywhere, if anyone could shed come light on it, that would be great as I would like to keep my customers happy, I have tried ringing fox on 2 occasions and I can’t get through, will try again tomorrow , thank you
I can't help with the second problem as i've never come across the EMS, you'll need Fox for that.
Typically though with inverters in parallel you must connect them from Parallel 1 (Master) to Parallel 2 (Next Slave) it won't work if you go P1 to P1, obviously set the dip switches on the Master and last slave as per the manual.
You shouldn't set a meter option on the slave, it should be left disabled.
Finally on the Master in Settings make sure you go to Parallel and set 'Master Mode' , any slaves will automatically become slaves at this point.

Dave, you say "from Parallel 1 (Master) to Parallel 2 (Next Slave)".
In Will's video he says "connect from Parallel 2 on master to Parallel 1 on slave.
I've tried it both ways - without success - but I think my problem is probably due to the two inverters both have old (and different) firmware versions.

The H3 Pro is a special case and often has an EMS box for KH and H1(G2) you are correct, it is from Parallel 2 on the first device to Parallel 1 on the next and so on.
The firmware should be the same on all devices, and the latest firmware will ensure that it is supported correctly.
Don’t forget to set the dip switches on the inverter that has the meter/ct fitted and in ‘parallel’ in ‘Settings’ set the Address uniquely on each inverter and number to the number of inverters connected.

You must have matching latest firmware before you try to configure them.
3ph inverters have their own special configuration which is documented in the manual

As my two inverters (KH10.5s) had different and old firmware preventing parallel from working, I tried raising a ticket to get support to update my firmware to the latest, but after getting no response, I decided to have a go myself.
I created an Installer account (with no Agent) and connected a datalogger to new inverter.
I created a new site for this second inverter, and was then (to my surprise) allowed to upgrade the firmware, master, manager and slave to the latest versions. Unfortunately, when the slave upgrade completed, it said "failed", but it also showed that the latest slave firmware was installed, both on the app and on the inverter's display.
I then disconnected the data logger, and put it on my original inverter. It then allowed my to do the updates on this. Again the slave update failed, but this time really did fail - the original software showed on both displays, and an error message, "failed 41206" appeared. Being an optimist, and knowing that that inverter would always be the master, never the slave, I continued undaunted.
I set the parallel configuration (master 1,2 slave 2,2) restarted both inverters, and they appear to work as expected.
I still have two problems:
1) The new inverter is in "Alarm" condition, because it cannot detect the CT (error code 240). It can't detect it because I haven't fitted it. (The helpful video appeared to say it was unnecessary.) I don't see where one should be fitted. I could fit one round the mains cable as it enters that inverter's isolation switch, but would that confuse things?
2) I can't see how to create a second site on my (Android) phone, nor can I add the second inverter to the original site. Looking at the two sites on my PC I can work out what is happening but the slave site is very confusing.

I have cleared the first problem: I eventually worked my way through the front panel settings until I found the one which disables/enables the first CT, and set it to disabled. (Obvious really, once you find it.)
