I had my solar panels installed just last week, with a 6kw Fox inverter and a "Smart 4G" dongle. Everything worked great up until about 10am this morning, when everything in the app went offline.
I've been up to the attic to see what's going on, and the inverter looks fine (blue light and green light on front and sensible looking numbers on the display) but the dongle has a quick flashing red light.
I unplugged the dongle and put it back in but it has not changed. It's still offline with a quick flashing red light.
Everything I can find via Google explains how to reset the WiFi dongle. How do I reset the 4G dongle?
Many thanks for any help provided.
There is very little setup to do on the 4G smart datalogger, plug it in add the serial number to your site and it should work - this must have been done for it to work.
I would restart the entire inverter which will make sure that the manager has not crashed - there is a video in the guides section which helps with this but basically you open the PV isolator, then the AC isolator, power off the batteries - wait for the inverter screen to go blank and then reverse that process, power on batteries close AC isolator and close DC isolator, after a couple of minutes of checking the inverter will be back up and running - wait 10 minutes before you check the cloud connection as the datalogger only sends data at 5 minute intervals.
I guess just to add, as it’s 4G it will be at the whim of the mobile companies and my car occasionally falls out with the vodafone telematics for a day or two and then starts working again - so it may come back on it’s own, but if you get no joy after the restart get your installer to look at it, it may have gone faulty.

Thanks for the advice, Dave. I've restarted the inverter this morning but it's had no effect so I will contact the installer and see what they suggest.
