New to FoxESS system; "Low SOC reminder" messages.

Hello. I got my system installed a few months ago and have zero clue about what it's doing, whether I'm saving any money, what the various parts of the app indicate and why I keep getting "Low SOC reminder" messages on my phone indicating that I need to charge the battery.
Surely, the purpose of
having solar is so that the battery is charged by the sun; doesn't charging the battery from the grid sort of defeat the purpose of the whole setup?

Do you see the battery SoC rise during the day from the solar charging? If it's staying flat at 10% you might have a genuine issue.

It seems to always only be at 20%. I don't believe I've ever seen it go beyond this SoC level.
The installers put the thing in and essentially left me to fend for myself; there's been no follow up or checking to see how the system is working. I have no clue what's going on or whether it was actually worthwhile getting the system installed or not. At the moment, I'm more leaning towards the "not" end of the scale.
I taken a screenshot of my Foxcloud 2.0 app when I open it up; it's night at the moment, so it's obviously not going to be charging, but during the day, I don't believe I've been particularly aware of the system charging. I also don't know what the Self-Sufficiency/Self-Consumption and Total Revenue values represent.
I've no idea if any of this will give you any clues or not as to what's going on, but right now, I'm feeling like I've been taken advantage of...

ADDENDUM: I've just been to the Device screen and has a look at the Battery and the Inverter pages. The Battery page is now showing the battery as "Discharging", but the charge was up to 35% when I looked at it a few minutes ago.
It's quite an overcast, dull & rainy day, so I was surprised to see that the battery had charged as much as 35% from when I posted my original message.
The Total PV Yield is showing as 1.3MWh, while the Daily PV Yield is 5.2 KWh. The system was installed on 12th June.
Are these figures typical/good for a PV system in the UK? What kind of things should I be monitoring the system for on a regular basis? I've literally been given a new toy, but without any sort of manual...
