Hi, I'm wondering if anyone can explain some things about the System Min SOC.

Following first installation of the my system I read the value as 10%, however, in several instances now it has dropped below 10%, the lowest value I've was 7%.

Any attempt by the user (me) to set the System Min SOC to a different value than 10% results in the system reporting error 44098 Write Failed.

I have seen it act to recharge the battery from the PV when there is enough difference between the load and what it produces, but never from the grid when there is insufficient PV available.

I speculate and ask a question: if the system seems to regard the 10% as a fixed limit set only by itself why does it not act (e.g. by charging from the grid or PV) to elevate back to the limit set by the system itself?

It is currently sitting at 8%.

Should I be concerned about the health of the battery or is this just a "Feature"??

I believe you have had your questions already answered in your other posts, but it is a fair thing to wrap your head around. viewtopic.php?p=12352#p12352 as mentioned by me and Dave on this subject, your system is still learning the end points of the battery cells inside, and the percentage value shown is an approximation of this Voltage. Given the newness of your system, it will still be learning these end points currently and will go beyond.

The error code 44098 is very similar to 44096 iirc, you are basically trying to set a value that is already blocked out. So if you have a schedule for charging, with a MinSoc value set, and you are trying to change this outside of the scheduler, then you get a conflict. viewtopic.php?p=12553#p12553 So if you have this value set elsewhere in your quick settings or in your schedule and are trying to adjust, it cannot be done.

The battery will not charge from the grid if it not programmed to do so, it will only pull grid energy if you are demanding more power than the Battery/PV combined can produce.

So the system will not just pull from the grid to increase the "reported" 8% SoC, as this is only a reflection of an internal calculation of the cell Voltages. The only time the battery will pull any power from the grid, is when the temperature is extremely low, and it will charge to save functionality.

The cells in the battery are quite tough, after almost a year, I along with a few others still have 100% State of Health. For some users that perhaps abuse their batteries quite a bit, they will see 3-4% loss on SoH over the first year, then this flattens out normally after the initial year, perhaps 1-2% loss is quite normal.

I see on the Foxcloud app that the battery SOH is 100% but I can't find it on the desktop.

It does take time to connect the dots up with any new system, like a jigsaw, the pieces will all in time, fall into place.

As for SoH on the desktop (also known as Fox Cloud v2 website to me) it is tucked away.

You are welcome, hopefully you have now found the SoH value in Fox Cloud website v2.

I did see, and reply to your thread, they definitely need to implement better error messages.
