EV Charger A series, C series L series which one is the latest?
Hi All,
Does anyone know which series EV charger is the latest/best?

I have a Fox ESS Battery and now need a charger and would like it in the same app (FoxCloud 2.0) so looking at Fox chargers.

Also does anyone have a list of Australian sellers as I can only find like 2 in the whole country.

Thanks in the bank!! :D

P.S we have had our Fox battery for almost 2 month as we are supper happy with it.
It never goes below 75% and the power company is always in the red. Bills < zero.

Hey Josh, any update on this?
I've got the kh10 inverter and I'm thinking the a series is the go to, but I'm having trouble finding how it can connect.
Re: EV Charger A series, C series L series which one is the latest?
Hi Mike,
I was told by a supplier here the 'L' Series is the newer one.
Beside the detachable cable option it has everything the 'A' series has.
One thing the 'L' has is the cables going to the power box can go straight into the back which the A can't

Nobody got back to me on here but maybe this will start a thread on it.

I've attached the data sheet for the 'L' and the 'A'

As for the inverter Mike, the chargers don't have any connection with them, it's own circuit it the switch board.
The way they interact is via the FoxCloud2.0 APP so you can set different triggers for stuff.

Anyway hope that helps

Thanks for that Josh.

Yeah it's a shame the info is so hard to come by.

I'm looking at an A series, but I'm slightly concerned that if the only comms is via the app and cloud, then it will react really slowly to PV linkage and changes in PV output etc.

Another thread I've got going says comms can go to the inverter. I'll try and find more info.
Re: EV Charger A series, C series L series which one is the latest?
Hi Josh et al - Following your progress with great interest because I also have a Fox battery (41.93kWh) & inverter (15kW)
There is also the C series EV charger which I understand has TWO EV charging ports - perfect for a 2 EV car household.
Re: EV Charger A series, C series L series which one is the latest?
Hi Mike,
I could be wrong here but I think the PV stuff gets triggered directly from the meter (over rs485)
Is that what you mean, when there is extra solar being produced put it in the car?
I think the app is just for changing setting and displaying data.
Good point though if it has to wait for the app to update with its current situation then trigger a reaction.
Let me know what you find, id be very interested if there is a bottle neck I should be addressing.

Hi Gino, Yeah super happy with the big battery hey, mine hasn't been below 78% yet :D . Ok so that's what the C series is a duel charger, definitely would be the go if you had two car spots. I can't find any info on it here in Aust

My install is booked for two weeks away L series, I will let you guys know how it goes (Hopefully the car will arrive at the same time  )
Re: EV Charger A series, C series L series which one is the latest?
awesome - how exciting a charger AND an EV :D Super keen to hear how it pans out. Yeh I've been cycling my 42kWh battery every day and achieving monthly credits through Flow Power
Re: EV Charger A series, C series L series which one is the latest?
Hey Josh,

Yeah maybe if it gets triggered from the meter that'd be good! Just haven't seen that anywhere.
I guess i'll have to guinea pig it...

Let us know how the L series install goes. I'll be going the A series and installing a meter too. Fun and games.
Re: EV Charger A series, C series L series which one is the latest?
Spoke to fox on the phone. They said the A seriec charger doesn't need to go though a smart meter.
Ev charger connects to ports 3 and 4 on the Kh inverter. A-A and B-B.
Will see how we go!
Re: EV Charger A series, C series L series which one is the latest?
What you managed to get someone from Fox on the phone, it's a miracle!
That's cool, so to the inverter.

Did they happen to mention anything if you do have a smart meter?
I'm in the opposite boat to you, my smart meter is close to where the charger is getting installed and my kh inverter is on the other side of the house so running an extra cable will be a pain.

Have you got a date planned for your install?

Thanks mate
