) the battery is at 80% SoC, so I thought I'd schedule a discharge...
Something is definitely not right because the system changed from importing around 0 to 10W and pumping that and the rest of the solar into the battery to importing 194W !!!

I guess at this point you can be thankful it at least charged up, looking like a tasty bug at the moment.

Looking on the App at this time I can see the battery charging figure reduce as the solar panel figure reduces even though i am running on forced charge from grid . I assume when the solar figure reduces to zero charging will stop . Will let you know
Well quick update, so once solar power dropped to 10w battery started discharging even though I on forced charge .

Yes, mine's very similar (attached). The thing that made it actually force charge for me was to change the "Min. SOC on grid" setting from 100 to 98. I have no idea why that makes it work...!!
As far as I can tell you can only get to that setting on the web interface not the app:

- Go to https://www.foxesscloud.com/v2/ and log in.
- Click "Quick Settings" at the top right.
- Click "Mode Scheduler" bottom left.
- Make sure the top toggle is set to "Manual".
- Click the blue text on the slot.
- Change "Min. SOC on grid" to 98 and click "Confirm".
- Click "Submit" at the bottom - you should see "Operation Successful" appear at the top of the window.

My installer should be on site this morning to see what they can do... Fingers crossed!
Installer just left - was on the phone to Fox for a while. The lady at Fox checked some settings her end, then conferred with a colleague and advised us that there's a firmware update which should fix the issues. She's going to remotely update the firmware now which should take 45 mins or so. Will keep an eye on it and post another update once the firmware has arrived...

Much better than before but still a few issues:
Force charge: now works, but only at max 3kW. It should go up to 6kW max if I'm reading the spec sheet correctly ("Grid Input Max Apparent Power: 6000VA; 27.3A max per phase") ?!
Force discharge: now works, but it imports about 200W once the target is reached even when there's plenty of solar. (Not ideal but I can live with it!) There is a display issue with it saying "import" when it's obviously exporting!
Feed-in priority: now works. There's the same display issue with it saying "import" when it's exporting.

Aye! Google seems to say the unit was launched for pre-orders in April last year. Not sure when it started shipping, but it doesn't look like it was anywhere near ready!
Also noticed that the system Max and Min SoC are set at 100% and 10% which gives a DoD of 90%, whereas the spec sheet says "95% DoD", so have asked the installer about that too...

The DoD values can be region dependant.
The same battery for the UK market can have 90% DoD, and Australian market for example has 100% DoD. Suspect it's about our much lower Winter temperatures.
That being said, if they state 96% for UK market... then add that to the bug list.

Yup, the datasheet on the UK site https://fox-ess.uk/downloads/#datasheets says 95% DoD twice!

It might be blocked still if the FW is not mature enough, or they changed their minds for the UK market, but didn't update the sales blurb/spec sheets.

Maybe it's just a firmware issue, aye, like the "Importing" caption when the unit is clearly exporting!
