I'm at a bit of a loss. I noticed in the Cloud 2.0 app that I could update the W6 datalogger firmware to v1.09 from v1.08. I had 5s updates working in v1.08 (this firmware on a new install). Pressed update, waited, all went well. No errors. Everything back online.
The issue is, I seem to be on 5 minute updates now.
Has anybody bumped into this before, and do you have a fix?
The documentation says that for 5s updates the firmware needs to be v1.08 or greater.
A discussion here yesterday: viewtopic.php?p=15050#p15050
The short answer was the 5s refresh took a bit of time to "recover" for me it worked, then stopped working, and recovered a few hours later.

Thanks.
9 hours later it seems to be back.

Good to hear, must take some time to settle (no idea why though)
I also encountered the same issue after upgrading my datalogger from firmware v1.08 to v1.09 this morning. Now my 5-second refresh bubble icon has disappeared and it only updates every 5 minutes. I hope after 9 to 12 hours this feature will come back and work as other users reported.
I also encountered another issue after the firmware update: my battery showed as offline. Luckily, Gemini instructed me to power off the inverter and battery and turn them back on again; this resolved the battery offline issue.

Confirming 9 hours later, my 5-second update works as well. I could pinpoint that 9-hour window—it’s definitely a "hidden" rule of the new v1.09 security handshake that Fox ESS doesn't mention in the update.
I also have the W6 Datalogger and upgraded to the 1.09 firmware, also lost the 5 second updates and now only getting 5 minute updates. It’s been 3 days now and still can’t get the 5 second updates back.
I’ve restarted my inverter and my Datalogger and nothing…!
I logged a support call with Fox 3 days ago and they haven’t even bothered to respond so that says a lot about their support….wondering now if Fox was a good decision…?

It's either unplug/replug in the datalogger.kevinbg007 wrote: ↑Fri Apr 03, 2026 9:35 pm I also have the W6 Datalogger and upgraded to the 1.09 firmware, also lost the 5 second updates and now only getting 5 minute updates. It’s been 3 days now and still can’t get the 5 second updates back.

Or go through the process to add your WiFi credentials again, it might just wake it up.
Gemini instructed me to reset my dongle password and wait for 9 hours; the 5-second refresh fixed it on v1.09.kevinbg007 wrote: ↑Fri Apr 03, 2026 9:35 pm I also have the W6 Datalogger and upgraded to the 1.09 firmware, also lost the 5 second updates and now only getting 5 minute updates. "Reset the Dongle Password:
Access your Fox ESS dongle settings (usually via the local Wi-Fi configuration page or the FoxCloud app).
Reset or re-enter your Wi-Fi/Dongle password. This often forces a handshake refresh with the Fox ESS servers."
I’ve unplugged the Datalogger waited 60 seconds and plugged it back in, still not getting 5 second readings.
I’ve reset the WiFi and even put it onto a different WiFi network, waited over 9 hours, still not getting 5second readings back.
Today I’m going to shut my KH10 inverter down and restart it - fingers crossed but not hopeful.
Still no response from Fox support
Failing that I’m going to try and go back to v1.08.

Maybe try changing your Foxcloud password as well to see if that will sync with the server.kevinbg007 wrote: ↑Sat Apr 04, 2026 10:17 pm I’ve unplugged the Datalogger waited 60 seconds and plugged it back in, still not getting 5 second readings.

I restarted everything and that didn’t work so have now changed my password as suggested. I’ll see later tonight if that works or not.
Nb still no response from fox support.
